We are building a technology platform based on a new scientifically proven way of inducing drug and genetic material uptake without the detrimental effects when using electroporation or the limited yield of liposomal or viral transfection. The technologies developed at Sun HiTek came about because of the critical need to successfully transfuse small and macro molecules, DNA, siRNA, and drugs into cells that current transfection methods, such as electroporation, could not meet.

The technologies were developed by Dr. Luyi Sen, a cardiac surgeon and researcher, who also holds a PhD in the field of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Sen's research, like many researchers in the areas of gene therapy and drug delivery, requires large population of the transfected cells. However it was difficult and expensive to build this stockpile using electroporation, liposomal and viral methods.

Consequently, a platform system was developed that not only effectively perfuse cell walls with the desired molecules, but to do so with over 90% cell survival rate. This platform system can also be used to deliver drugs and genetic materials to whole organs such as the heart, joints, and liver.
